Production progress & Adjustments

Dear backers,

Following up on my trip to China, here are the most important things that I think you may want to know: 

• The black border is about 3mm slimmer, that also means the functional display is with 3mm bigger.
• The curve, I think the photo explains everything:

Please keep in mind that the case on the left is raw (no polish, no oxidation etc.).

• One of our suppliers mistakes the thickness of the cases with about 0.4mm and we had to redo them.
• On 10 May our partner will send us a golden sample (100% identical with the customer product). I'll keep you updated on this (photos, videos, possibly a live stream).
• The IP68 cannot be promised. We will make everything we can to achieve it.
• The first production it should be ready in the late May, early June.

I will post another update regarding the production capacity issue very soon.

Overall, I think that we're going in the right direction.

Production Schedule

Dear backers,

I have received the production schedule from our partners and I would like to share that with you.

*Please keep in mind that we cannot predict the issues that may occur and delay our plan, this is just an estimation. The schedule doesn't include assembling.

Sample & Production Update

Dear Backers,

Yesterday we have finished a newly improved sample and it came pretty well. There are small things that need to be perfected but the production work will get them done, perfectly.

Improvements: 

• Black border: we managed to cut approx. 2,4mm of that black border (4,8mm in diameter).
• Functional display: the functional display is now properly exposed to the user (approx. 1,5mm more of the functional display)
• Curve: now the edge curve of the entire watch is properly lined up and continue with all of it's stages (front glass, middle case, back case, back glass).
• The button was re-adjusted with approx. 3mm.
• Hump: if you look closely at the previous samples, the middle case had something like a "hump". We get rid of that!
• Front glass + Middle case match: now we have an almost perfect and continuous match between these two. There is a small space of 0,3mm that I think it can be improved with the production.

Production: 

Because everything looks great with this sample and I understand that the small and delicate work of improvements cannot be done in this stage as it needs a proper tooling and production preparation, I have confirmed the sample and started preparing the production process.

Quality & Material Tests Report (part 2)

Dear backers,

I just received the Technical Report on the samples and I would like to share it with you.

These tests will be done again when we finish the first production batch.

As a short follow up with my trip to China, I will leave on 27 Feb. and stay there until 5 May. This time should be enough to finish the first production batch.

Materials & Quality Check (part 1)

Dear backers,

As I told you in the live stream, the silver sample, that we also received, was unavailable to show it to you because we had to do some material & quality tests (main reasons being the Titanium case and Sapphire crystal glass).

I have received some photos and data about the tests and I would like to share that with you.
