Here's a short footage with the sapphire glass conductivity test and a bit too excessive scratch test. Although, this can clearly show how strong sapphire is.
Kickstarter's compression may alter the quality of the video so, I don't know if you can see the scratches on the normal glass. Here are the photos with both materials:

The sample arrived at our office. Further analyses will be done here and a feedback sheet will be sent to our manufacturer today/tomorrow.
CONCLUSION
At a first glance, the sample looks and works great. We are going to do more tests and if everything goes well we can confirm it and continue the production of the first batch. Keep in mind that if we have issues with it, we can confirm it only if the issues can be solved within the production line.

First of all, I saw that some were intrigued why we've first posted this update on our website's newsroom. I really don't understand why this would be a problem as long as everyone has access to it. Besides that, the update was sent to every newsletter subscriber in our subscription database (where the majority of you are).
Now, here is the information regarding the actual UPDATE.
SAMPLE
We've received some graphic materials with the new sample which were we don't see any major issue* yet. Now we are waiting for the sample to arrive at us for further analysis.
*Major issues - problems that we cannot solve or improve during the production.
SHIPPING
We don't have an exact shipping date yet. The reason is that we don't know exactly at this moment how big the first production batch can be.
Why don't we know that? Because, as you may know, our initial plan wasn't to use materials like Titanium (in our case: approx. 3x more expensive than Aluminium), Sapphire (in our case: approx. 6x more expensive than Tempered glass: i.e. Gorilla Glass, Asahi Glass etc.) and hardware that cost with approx. 1/3 more than the previous one.
Why do we use these materials/HW? Because Aluminium is too soft to sustain our structure for a longer period of time. Tempered glass is still too easy to scratch/break (in our opinion). This hardware is much faster and efficient for a smartwatch.
REFUNDS
Regarding those who want refunds, as we already stated in several updates in the past, we cannot issue refunds at this moment.
The majority of the crowdfunding campaigns aren't just fundraising in order to produce a product, they also are for other things like product development (but not limited to). Companies (majority are start-ups) that are launching a crowdfunding campaign, most of the times they don't have the capital to continue their project (some don't have even to finalize their development (this doesn't mean that they don't have a viable prototype/sample)). This being said, I don't see even to be logical to issue refunds as a crowdfunding creator after you most probably spent the funds as presented. Why? Because if the capital were redirected to specific areas (development/production etc.), there are no other funds to support refunds.
The only way that a creator could issue refunds is by having the refunds budget on their hands before starting/finishing the campaign, sell after the campaign or the campaign profits are bigger enough to cover the refunds (although, this is pretty hard in our product category).
None of these things are eligible in our case. If we had that budget we wouldn't start a campaign.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THAT THIS DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE DON'T WANT TO REFUND THOSE WHO WANT THEM. THIS MEANS THAT WE DON'T AFFORD THEM AT THIS MOMENT. WE DON'T WANT TO "FORCE" OR DO "TRICKY" THINGS TO MAKE PEOPLE STRUGGLE WITH THIS PROCESS.
THERE WERE CUSTOMERS THAT PRE-ORDERED OUR PRODUCT ON OUR WEBSITE AND DECIDED THAT THEY DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR IT THIS MUCH SO, WE ISSUED THEM REFUNDS A.S.A.P (USUALLY IN THE SAME DAY) BECAUSE WE HAD THEIR MONEY THERE.

As you may guess, unfortunately, we don't have an estimated delivery schedule yet. Seems we cannot predict all the issues that may appear (even though we have talked about them) and to tell you a date/schedule would be pointless, unprecise and a good chance to be untrue.
