Materials & Sense Touch Bezel

Dear Backers,

As you probably know I'm in China right now and I have 2 major things that I'd like to point out:

Materials: I had a meeting with our partner (manufacturer) and the last tests that we have done showed us that Aluminium is too soft to use for our product. We have some very delicate parts that Aluminium cannot handle in a "production" way. 

We could do the previous prototypes (including the final one) with Aluminium because it was a more controlled process than an automatized production line process. So, we saw that some parts are very thin that with no much effort could break.

As a result, we have to change the casing material. Tomorrow will be the day when we decide the final material but probably it will be Titanium. It is very strong, tough and durable, it has a low density, high/low-temperature resistance, also it's corrosion resistant and non-poisonous (biologically inert).

I personally see this change as an improvement. Please, let me know your thoughts.

Sense Touch Bezel: Unfortunately, the Sense Touch Bezel won't be included as a feature. I think you all know the reason and I hope that you can understand that we cannot add functions that aren't viable, right now.

Timeline: After we decide the material tomorrow, we are going to have a first final prototype in a week or so, when I will make another update with/about it. I hope that won't be necessary to do some adjustments to it. After we confirm the prototype, we start the production.

Mock-up update!

Dear Backers,

As you have asked, here is a picture of our latest mock-up. This mock-up helps us to see the quality of the materials and to reduce the possibility of some design mistakes. The mock-up isn't a functional product.

For your reference, I have an approx. 185mm circumference.

Also, the production process of the final prototype has begun. As soon as we have a confirmed prototype we will update it.

Adrian is no longer available for responding to comments, I will try to answer from now on. One of the reasons is that I am more closely to its (Dagadam Watch) development. Kindly please stick the questions to our product only.

From what we discussed with the factory, a final prototype requires 20 days of tooling. As we have repeated in previous updates, unexpected things may appear that can increase the development time.

Regarding the accusations that have been brought to us by certain backers, I do not know what those charges are based on, but I ensure you we will prove you the opposite.

I know that this waiting creates a discomfort, but this is the road that we must follow to make a whole new product.
